The Fagernes Chess International 2017 is held in Fagernes, Norway from 9th till 16th April 2017
The Main organizer is Hans Olav Lahlum in cooperation with Hedmark og Oppland Sjakkrets. Hans Olav Lahlum (born 1973) is a well known Norwegian chess player, chess organizer and chess TV commentator, having the titles of International Organizer (IO) and International Arbiter (IA) from the World Chess Federation FIDE.

Groups:
GM-group (The open Norwegian Chanpionship): A 9-round Swiss open for all players having the official
titles GM, IM, FM, WGM, WIM or WFM from FIDE.
Rate of play: 2 hours in 40 moves, then 1 hour for the rest.oves, then 1 hour for the rest.
IM-group: Closed group with 10 players.
System of play: 9 Rounds-10 Player Round Robin
Rate of play:
90 minutes in 40 moves +
30 minutes all moves +
30 seconds increment
Elo-group:
A 9-round FIDE-rated Swiss open for all tournament
players regardless of Elo.
The tournament will count towards the Norwegian Grand Prix cycle 2016-2017.
Rate of play:
2 hours in 40 moves, then 1 hour for the rest.
