Karen Asrian Memorial 2018

The 11th Karen Asrian Memorial is taking place in Jermuk Armenia from 21 till 29 June 2018.

The time control is 90 minutes for 40 moves, then 30 minutes to the end of the game, with a 30-second increment from move 1. The prize fund is $27,000, with $7,000 for first place.

The 9-round Swiss Open is held in memory of Karen Asrian (1980-2008), the 3-time Armenian Chess Champion (1999, 2007, 2008), winner of the Dubai 2001 and 2004 Tigran Petrosian Memorial tournaments. In 2006, Asrian competed on third board for the gold-medal winning Armenian team at the Chess Olympiad in Turin. He became team champion of Armenia in 2006 and 2007 with Bank King Yerevan.
