The Division A is a 12-team double round-robin featuring top players from all over the world - Ding Liren (Zhejiang Chess Team); Yu Yangyi and Li Chao (Beijing Beiao team); Jakovenko Dmitry and Eljanov Pavel (Hangzhou Bank Team); Harikrishna P. and Matlakov Maxim (China Mobil Shanghai Chess Club); Bu Xiangzhi and Sethuraman S.P. (Shandong Jingzhi Team); Andreikin Dmitry and Ganguly Surya Shekhar (Chongqing Team); Vidit Santosh Gujrathi and Vallejo Pons Francisco (Chengdu Beilei Youth Chess Club); Cheparinov Ivan (Shenzhen Longgang Chess association); Malakhov Vladimir and Wang Yue (Tianjin Team); Xu Yinglun (Guangdong Ding Xin High Tech Team); Inarkiev Ernesto (Hangzhou Turbine Team); Maghsoodloo Parham (Hebei sports lottery chess team). Each match is played over five boards, with women playing on two boards.
The time control is 90 minutes for all moves, with a 30-second increment from move 1. There are 2 match points for a win and 1 for a draw.
