The event includes GM & IM Norm tournament; Round Robins; Open Sections A - C tournaments and Open Sections D &E tournaments. 15 countries are represented with participants from Argentina, Botswana, India, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, South Africa, Serbia, Swaziland, Uruguay, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

KCF Capablanca Masters 2018 is a 10-player round-robin tournament taking place from 27 April to 1 May 2018. The players receive 90 minutes for 40 moves, followed by 15 minutes to the end of the game, plus a 30-second increment starting from move one.
