Stockfish won at the TCEC Season 6 Special Event - Fischer Random Chess

Stockfish won the TCEC Season 6 Special Event - Fischer Random Chess computer tournament with 25/28 points.

Fischer Random Chess computer tournament presented the 8 best engines which support Chess960 from Season 6. In Fischer Random Chess (Chess960) the pieces at the starting position are placed randomly in one of the 960 possible ways. In this particular competition opening books won't be used. The engines will play from move 1. The tournament started on 28th June, 2014 at 16:00 CEST in a quad robin format with a total of 112 games.

Stockfish won Season 6 of TCEC

Stockfish won convincingly in Season 6 of the Thoresen Chess Engines Competition with 35.5/64 points at the Superfinal against Komodo which finished with 28.5/64 points.

Stockfish and Komodo at the superfinal of TCEC

Stockfish is leading so far after Round 6 at the Superfinal of Season 6 of Thoresen Chess Engines Competition. Stockfish qualified for the Superfinal after winning Stage 4 with 30/48, and Komodo - after coming second with 28/48 points.

Stockfish wins Stage 2 of TCEC

Stockfish won Stage 2 of Season 6 TCEC with 11.5/15 points, followed by Komodo and Rybka with 11 points.

Thoresen Chess Engines Competition is a computer chess tournament organised and hosted by Martin Thoresen. Engines are allowed updates between stages, unless there is a critical play-limiting bug, in which case the engine can be updated once during the stage. TCEC generates its own ELO list from the matches played during the tournament. An initial rating is given to any new participant based on its rating in other chess engine rating lists.

Organised since 2010, it is now Season 6 of TCEC.
