The New in Chess Classic is held from April 24 till May 2, 2021 on chess24.
It is the fifth leg on the $1.5 million Meltwater Champions Chess Tour.
Players include GM Magnus Carlsen, GM Wesley So, GM Hikaru Nakamura, GM Alireza Firouzja, and 15-year-old Polgar Challenge winner GM Praggnanandhaa Rameshbabu.
The time control is 15 minutes for the whole game and a 10-second increment per move. The knockout phase has four-game rapid matches. In case of a tie after two matches, two 5+3 blitz games are played and if needed, an Armageddon game, where White has five minutes and Black four but with draw odds.
