The First Friday is a 10-player round-robin tournament taking place from 3-7 February 2018 in Puchong, Malaysia. It is organised by the Institute for Chess Excellence (ICE) together with the Malaysian Chess Federation (MCF) eight times per year to provide World Chess Federation (FIDE) rating and title norm opportunities to players in Malaysia and the Asia-Pacific region.
Time control: the players receive 90 minutes for the entire game, plus a 30-second increment starting from move one.
