38th INTERNATIONAL OPEN CHESS TOURNAMENT "GEORGI TRINGOV MEMORIAL"
UNDER THE AUSPICES OF THE MAYOR AND FOR THE AWARDS OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF PLOVDIV

TOURNAMENT SYSTEM
The championship will be played according to
the rules of Swiss system in 9 rounds. Players will have 90 minutes to
complete a game, with 30 seconds for a move, timed from their initial
move. Electronic DGT HL clocks will be used to measure time.
The tournament is valid for international and Bulgarian ratings and titles.
VENUE
The tournament will take place in Moscow Hall of Novotel Plovdiv.

January 31 (Sunday) - 14.30 – Technical conference and official opening - 15.00 - 1 round
February 1 (Monday) - 15.00 - 2 round
February 2 (Tuesday) - 09.00 - 3 round - 15.00 - 4 round

February 4 (Thursday) - 15.00 - 6 round

PARTICIPANTS
Chess players who have paid the following entry fee are eligible to take part in the tournament:
- Students and pensioners – BGN 35.00
- All other Bulgarian citizens – BGN 55.00
- Foreign chess players – EUR 40.00
RANKING
Players are ranked by their score (number of points won). In case of a tie the following extra ratings will apply.

Awards to the total amount of EUR 10 000 will be distributed as follows:

Special awards totally amounting to EUR 2 470.00 will be granted to
veteran players, women, players with FIDE rating of 2001-2200,
players with FIDE rating of 2000 and with no rating, boys aged 18-,
girls aged 18-, children.
Awards are not shared. In such a case the bigger one is awarded.
