GM Fabiano Caruana won the 2nd Sinquefield Cup after 7 wins in a row and 3 draws in the final rounds, finishing with 8.5/10 points.
Sinquefield Cup events are not over yet. Ultimate Moves will take place today, 8th September, at 2pm local time. Ultimate Moves will feature eight two-man teams made up of a GM and an amateur player each. The teams will compete in a double-round knockout bracket, with teammates alternating moves in games with a time control of 15 minutes and 2-second increments.
On Tuesday, 9th September, there will be an exhibition titled "Ultimate Showdown," a six-game friendly between GMs Levon Aronian and Hikaru Nakamura playing the popular chess variant of Chess960. Both players are former World Champions to the variant, also known as FischerRandom Chess, and will play the exhibition games on iconic furniture used by Fischer and his childhood mentor Jack Collins. The furniture is currently on display at the World Chess Hall of Fame, as part of a presentation titled A Memorable Life: A Glimpse into the Complex Mind of Bobby Fischer.
