The inaugural Sunway Sitges International Open Chess tournament is the first-ever classical open tournament played online between 17th and 25th April 2020.
The format is a 9-round Swiss, followed by a 16-player knockout.
The time control for the Swiss portion is 90 minutes per player for the game, with an increment of 30 seconds per move. The first prize is €1,500. In addition, one lucky participant will win free apartment accommodations for four people in Sitges during the offline festival in December and entry fee into the open tournament (a €900 value)
