The Salamanca Masters is an 8-player round-robin tournament taking place between 24 and 27 October 2018 in Salamanca, Spain.
Time control: the players receive 40 minutes for the entire game, plus a 5-second increment starting from move one.
Eight prominent international chess players will participate in the Masters Tournament: Anatoly Karpov (1951), an International Grand Master, World Champion (1975-1985) and FIDE World Champion (1993-1999); Almira Skripchenko (1976) , a Moldovan-French chess player who holds the titles of International Master and Woman Grandmaster; Veselin Topalov, born (1975), an International Grand Master from Bulgaria, former World Champion and ranked 1 several times in the FIDE ELO rating list. Ekaterina Atalik (1982), a Russian-Turkish International Master and Woman Grand Master; Julio Granda Zúñiga (1967), a Peruvian international Grand Master and current Senior World Chess Champion; Ana Matnadze (1983), a Georgian International Master and Woman Grand Master; Miguel Santos Ruiz (1999), great-great-grandson до Miguel de Unamuno’s; Mónica Calzetta Ruiz (1972) a Spanish Woman Grand Master.
