The tournament is a 16-player knockout where top 2 players will earn a spot in the 2020 Candidates Tournament.
Time control: 90 min for 40 moves, then 30 min till game end with +30 sec increment from move 1
Tiebreak: two 25+10 rapid games are played. If still tied, there are two 10+10 games, then two 5+3. Finally, an Armageddon is played.
